Sick Marijuana Plants – Hermies

One of the most common illnesses that marijuana plants will face is hermies. This is something which will show up and make you think that your marijuana plant are female and producing good buds but all of a sudden the plant begins to create pollen sacks instead. Marijuana plants with hermies are partially male and partially female but referred to as a hermie plant.

Solution

If you run into any marijuana plants with hermies you will have to kill them as well as the male marijuana plants in your grow room. Those dope plants can cause your whole crop to get pollinated. If you notice that only one of your weed plants have hermies you can still get high from the weed on it but you should try to remove the pollen sacks to stop or minimize pollination.

Cause

Hermies can be caused from many things. By knowing what causes hermies you can help prevent it from occurring. If your weed plants are stressed and the lighting gets interrupted when the dope plants are used to it being on or off at that time it can lead to hermies. Other things like the temperature, water, nutrients, and humidity can lead to your dope plants getting hermies as well. Hermies can also be caused from genetics and females can turn into hermies from being stressed out.
